  Brinscall Festival 2008

Brinscall Festival Mission Statement

Brinscall Festival was originally held at Brinscall and Withnell Athletic and Recreational Association in 1972 and has continued annually for the last 34 years. There have been three exceptions due to the out break of Foot and Mouth and major construction work conducted by United Utilities.

The Brinscall Festival is a fun family day open to all. Initially a procession of children from local schools and nurseries sets off from St Joseph's school proceed down Bury Lane, along Railway Road, up School Lane and onto BWARA playing fields. The Festival is then officially opened and offers attractions such as a Fairground, stalls, races, sport and various other activities including refreshments.

All monies raised by the Festival allow for donations to the schools and nurseries involved and payment to the procession Band and Red Cross. The money raised helps to facilitate the upkeep of the sporting sections, incorporating football, tennis, cricket and bowls.

BWARA Festival Steering group hold many meetings, plan, prepare and formulate the Festival day. All decisions relating to finance, legislation, public liability and health and safety are made by BWARA main committee who are democratically appointed each year.

BWARA intend to provide a community based fun day for all whilst offering local business’s the chance to assist with sponsorship and promotion of the event.

BWARA provide sporting facilities to a high standard, we offer community members the chance to socialise and provide the use of our Club house for meetings and functions. Last years festival attracted over 2000 people from the local communities and involved over 300 local children in the procession.
